OUR STORY

About WeBelieve CBO

WeBelieve Community-Based Organization (WeBelieve CBO) was founded in Kabete, Kenya, by survivors, young leaders, and changemakers determined to break barriers that hold women, girls, and youth back. Rooted in lived experience, we empower communities through education, advocacy, and innovation—creating safe spaces where healing, leadership, and opportunity can flourish.

Our Mission & Vision

Our mission is simple: to empower women, girls, and youth through education, advocacy, and community-led development.
We envision a world where every young person—especially girls—realizes their potential and leads lasting change.

We Believe turns this vision into reality by blending mentorship, skill-building, and advocacy. Every program is designed to uplift, inspire, and create ripple effects of change across families and communities.

Our Approach

Our work is guided by inclusivity, sustainability, and empathy. We combine education, advocacy, and psychosocial support to tackle intersecting issues like gender inequality, mental health, STEM access, reproductive rights, and climate action.

By listening to communities, we design locally grounded solutions that reflect their realities and aspirations. From football fields to classrooms to rural workshops, We Believe meets people where they are—turning awareness into action and hope into opportunity.

A Word from Our Founder

When I founded We Believe Community-Based Organization, it was born out of both pain and hope. As a survivor of gender-based violence and a young mother who went back to school, I understand the barriers that so many girls and women face. But I also know the power of resilience, education, and belief in oneself.

My journey taught me that no circumstance should define or limit anyone’s potential. Every young person deserves the chance to dream, to learn, and to lead change within their own community. That is why We Believe exists—to create opportunities, to nurture leaders, and to show that healing and empowerment can go hand in hand.

At We Believe CBO, we’re not just running programs—we’re building movements of change led by the very people who have lived the challenges we aim to solve. From classrooms to football fields to climate action campaigns, we are proving that transformation begins when we choose to believe—in ourselves and in each other.
